About Sound Components

A sound component is a component that works with the Sound Manager to manipulate audio data or to communicate with a sound output device. Sound components provide the foundation for the modular, device-independent sound architecture introduced with Sound Manager version 3.0. This section provides a description of sound components and shows how they are managed by the Sound Manager. For specific information on creating a sound component, see "Writing a Sound Component" .
